The mango smoothie with ginger, cardamom, cinnamon and turmeric will surely tickle the fancy of those who like Indian flavours.
In addition to the taste and aromatic qualities, the above spices have also many health benefits. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. Ginger also has anti-inflammatory as well as analgesic, antioxidant and even slimming properties, it also prevents arterial hypertension.
Cinnamon exhibits anti-cancer, antiseptic and refreshing properties. It also strengthens the body, but it shouldn’t be used in excess. Cardamom has a refreshing effect and is recommended for digestive problems. These are just a few properties of these spices chosen by me.
1 large mango
4 tablespoons lemon juice
600 ml coconut milk
a good pinch of Ceylon cinnamon
2 cm fresh ginger
1 cm fresh turmeric
5 cardamom pods (or 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder)
a pinch of salt
orange slices for garnish
Peel and wash the mango, cut the flesh and place it in a glass blender. Peel and wash the carrots, cut them into thick slices. Get rid of the core of the apples – don’t peel them if they are organic. Peel and wash the ginger and turmeric. Take out the seeds from the cardamom pods. Put all ingredients into a glass blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mango smoothie into glasses and serve with orange slices.
