I never imagined that something as small and insignificant as pebbles would excite me and bring a smile to my face. I love everything about them, their shape, texture, colour, every single one is unique and tells a story.
I remember taking a closer look at stones for the first time and truly noticing their beauty during one of my trips to the local English beach. I should probably mention here that the beaches where I come from are mostly covered in sand, unlike the ones in the UK.
What caught my attention was an extraordinarily shaped pebble, which from different angles resembled various objects. Eventually, I decided that it could be a chair. I hurriedly searched for some inspirations online and to my surprise discovered that there are many more people out there who share my passion. I spent the rest of that day indulging in the gratifyingly tactile activity of collecting pebbles, listening to them crunching underneath my feet and watching waves delivering new piles of meticulously formed pebbles, I found the whole experience really absorbing and satisfying. I was extremely thrilled the moment I scattered all my stones in front of me and was able to put them together composing various pictures. I could compare it to assembling jigsaw, you feel a similar wave of excitement when you find two pieces that create something meaningful. However, with pebbles you never know where your imagination will take you.
