My name is Kay. I grew up in Spain, I was always a creative child, and used to spend my days daydreaming about all the things I wanted to do when I grow up. I wanted to travel, have lots of animals, live in a house with a big garden, meet a lot of people from different cultures, learn new languages, learn photography and have a music band.
Then I got pregnant at 19 years old and for a bit I though my dreams would never come true!
I remember when I was pregnant wishing very hard to have a girl, imagining how amazing it would be to have a little best friend and a partner in life adventures. I was blessed with a beautiful girl that I named Alexandra.
After having her, reality kicked hard, I found myself having to think of ways to pay bills, childcare and basically “survive” without having any real skills (I had just finished school and had never worked!).
Obviously, no time for thinking about my old dreams, but they were always an echo in the back of my mind.
I spend few months as a waitress in a Spanish bar, struggling to pay bills and consumed by the job and being a single mum. I needed to make more money, but I didn’t have time to study in Uni with a baby, plus I needed the money here and then. One day the solution came to me. If I became a flight attendant, the course would only take 3 months and I could start earning decent money and I would have many days off to spend with my baby. So, I did.
